Looking for a simple way to elevate your meals?

Try making your own Fermented Red Onions! With just a few basic ingredients and minimal effort, you can create a tangy and versatile ferment that adds flavor to a variety of dishes!


Fermented Red Onions Recipe


Ingredients:

  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 - 1 1/2 tsp sea salt

*Tools: 16 oz Mason Jar, Pickle Packer, Pickle Pebble, Pickle Pipe, Tough Band,Tough Top
*Optional: any spices/herbs that you like!


Instructions:                                                   
 
1. Thinly slice your onion. Place it in the Mason jar by packing it in with Pickle Packer.
 
2. Mix water and salt until dissolved.
 
3. Pour over your onion slices.
 
4. Place Pickle Pebble on top (make sure everything is below the brine).
 
5. Cover with Pickle Pipe and screw on the Tough Band.
 
6. Ferment for about 7 days in a dark spot such as your kitchen cupboard.
 
7. Transfer to the fridge after the fermentation process (remove the Pickle Pebble, Pickle Pipe and Tough Band) with an airtight lid on such as Tough Top.


Homemade fermented red onions are an easy way to add flavor to your meals. Use them in sandwiches, salads, tacos, and more for a tangy twist!
