The Kindle Quick is easy to carry, thanks to the design of curved handles. And you'll be able to carry wood from the cutting site to the fire right inside your splitter. Its X bottom not only makes it super stable, it allows you to use the splitter like a box to carry your kindling where you like. The tall profile of the tool, along with the slanted setting of the alternating teeth allow it to handle long logs and spit them out at an angle, preventing jamming. The wide mouth allows it to accomodate even wide logs. If you prefer to keep your Kindle Quick in one place, you can affix it to a large stump or other anchor using the bolt holes in the base. This thing is solid and awesome. I have a 9-year-old son and wanted to ensure that he was going to be safe when splitting firewood and kindling. My brother swung an axe into his shin when we were little so I understand how dangerous and axe can be. This thing can cut decent size rounds and kindling and a mallet or sledge is much safer than an axe when I'm not out there with him. Well designed, and good quality at a decent price point considering this will last generations. Every manufacturer should strive for these things. 5 stars!

I've found that using this wood splitter is so much easier than using an axe, especially when my husband isn't around to start the fire. I can easily split wood without risking injury with an axe. It's also easier on my back because it requires less force than swinging an axe. Even my 10 yo son has been able to use it safely.
I have a bad back. This thing has been great, especially if you need to get a little anger out of your system. I do not have it bolted down. I sit in a chair and split the logs, and it has been great.
This product is great. It can handle large logs and logs in between sizes. The strong design keeps it stable without needing to be drilled down. Plus, the sharp edge makes splitting and kindling easy.
